It allows them to know about us before they come in. they can see the agent they are going to sit down with in their environment. Not only are they able to see what the person looks like but they can see the desk that they will be sitting at. This allows them to be more comfortable before they come it, because it is like they have been here before. We are able to communicate to students faster. Contacting them on Facebook is sometimes the fastest way possible and they know who it is from, not just a number.
Yes they do, we have had seminars on social networking sites so that we are about to relate to our students as best as possible. We also can show the students what is going on at the school and events that they have participated in.
hopefully our students are aware that even thought the social networking sites are fast and fun they can also be very harmful
Most schools should have a formal social media policy in place. This helps ensure the campus is in compliance while still affording students and future students the benefits offered by social media like those suggested here.
You have to be very careful when advertising on FB.
