graduation, certification requirements
The main purpose for students going to school is obtaining employment. The importance for students to understand not only the school's requirements but the state's as well.
I have to agree, I spoke with a prospective student the other day who was going back to school to change his career entirely from a manual labor type position to working in the medical field. He wanted to obtain the degree because he felt it would give him a better chance of succeeding out in the job market. Both are common motivators for people to pursue school again, but in my opinion having the degree is the stepping stone to gaining the employment.
I believe the main purpose for students going to school is to obtain a degree first so that they can pursue finding a job that has worth to it. I feel that knowing what the school's requirements are should be included with the State's if there is something different than that of the schools. I am speaking from past experience that the degree was my first priority so that I could further market myself with not only my experience but now with the educational background.
