Facebook?
What about Facebook?
The school I currently work for uses facebook as a tool to let everyone know what events we are holding or attending. Along with getting information out to past or current students.
I think Social Media can be a great way for students to become aware of some of the programs that an institution has to offer. I feel getting an institutions name in front of a potential student can only be a positive thing.
Matthew,
Yes. Any social media site a school creates must adhere to the Board's advertising rules.

I think social media can be a fantastic tool to connect with students and generate more interest in programs. That said, it seems that the process would require great care to adhere to state guidelines regarding the information presented on a site like Facebook. The school I worked for in the past utilized Facebook as a networking and stitch-in tool. The question I have is: does this type of social media use (i.e. networking, stitch-in) qualify as a type of advertisement?
