Social Networking
My school doesn't currently use social networking as an advertising or recruiting tool. I'm excited to help implement social networking into our usual practices. I think Career Services could benefit from ie. FB by "keeping up" with our alumni, and that Student Services could keep better contact with our current students as well. I think social networking will benefit our student body (both present and past students) as an alternate means of connecting with our school and administration.
I agree social networking is a great way to stay in contact with every aspect of either potential or current or even alumni. How do you keep your work FB from entering your private FB world. Some things that students post may not be appropriate and I don't want my private world to be able to access that.
I have been using social media (FB) as a tool to keep in contact with my current and prospective students. It seem these days a phone call goes unanswered many times over but a FB or text message gets a response immediately. It's also a great way to keep up with the student's progress as they post comments about their classes and daily lives and we are of issues that may interfere with their progress.
I agree, I think that social networking (FB) is a great way to stay connected, I believe in networking as much as you can.
keeping up to date with social media is important both in keeping in contact with alumni and in recruiting new students but also in keeping track of current students. They will often post how they feel about their classes online and it is a good way to rate successes and failures of new procedures.
I think social media is a great marketing tool for every school since most people in todays time use social media in everyday life.
