Staying up to date and compliant

Staying up to date and compliant is important and reminds us all to continue good business practice.

I also feel the more an agent knows about compliance the better informed their prospective student will be. This will allow the student to trust the agent more and trust is huge when it comes to making a college choice. Think about when you went to school and if someone spent the time helping you understand everything in the admissions process. This is the best way to conduct business and should be practiced daily.

Staying up to date and compliant is a good refresher as to why we do this job. To help others not just for the business aspect.

Just as with any business, compliancy is the number one issue. Without being compliant, we would not be in business. We must protect our students at all times.

I agree I don't understand it either, and it makes all proprietary schools look bad. I just know at the end of the day I can only control what I do. So I make sure I do everything by the book. I know personally I don't want to be on CNN for something that I did or said. Plus I always see my potential students at the stores in my neighborhood. I don't want to be known as the guy that tries to con people into doing things.

In line with that comment, I dont understand how it is that there are Universities and Schools that make the news and have reports done about them for being unethical are able to still operate. Are there not audit findings? Do they actually have people sign the proper forms? If so, how are they able to deceive so many people?

Staying up to date with regulations and being complaint, this is extremely important. An admissions representative that doesn’t follow the guidelines that is set will be finding work in another field pretty quick.
