The last thing you want is for a student to find out important information about your schools policies, after the fact. Always go over all the information, including transfer of credits, whether they inquire about it or not.

I think its not important to know that as when a potential student is coming to your school, thats when you would be concerned withth transfering not if they are planning on taking them out. I feel its the Incoming Institutions responsability to know whether or not they will transfer in.

This is hard for some to understand espicially if they are coming from larger schools

Credit transfers should never be assumed to be automatic, each school has their own transfer policies.

THis is such a difficult issue to have the students understand. They want answers right then and don't seem to understand that I can not give them information about our credits and how they may or may not transfer.

We have to be upfront and let every potential student know that it is unlikely that any credits earned at our school will be accepted by or transferable to any other school.

A student knowing whether or not credits they've earned at a previous school, can be a huge factor in their decision to come to your school. For this reason, it is very important for a representative to be very clear about the likelihood of it for them.

Definitely good information to know. From what other reps have told me, most students believe credits will automatically transfer and that they always have to correct the student when it comes to that.
