Staying on top of things!
This can be the area that seems to change alot sometimes....having the resources and support in place is crucial for an agent that is on the enrollment side of things
Having weekly team meeting and production meetings is the best way for agents to state up to date on the information regarding changes with admission policies and procedures.
Looking up resources is a great way to stay informed, but I also like to keep in touch with department chairs who know their industry of expertise inside and out. If we keep in mind that we are a TEAM, it makes things so much easier and sometimes doesn't even feel like research when we are talking to our peers about the latest and greatest information that is out there to share with students!~
I agree. Having the resources and knowledge needed to successfully complete your task will make or break you. This where having a well informed and supportive supervisor becomes important. Management plays a major role in your success and need to make sure that you have every tools, resource, and the knowledge needed to successfully complete your task.
I like the reply I saw to this as well...I think it's very helpful for us to have other resources to turn to for the student. It allows the prospective student to meet and interact with other school staff, and we can take the pressure off ourselves from trying to be subject matter experts (SME's) in too many areas, even if we know an extensive amount of things in other areas of the school. And in many cases, we aren't supposed to go too far in addressing other questions without referring them to the other SME's. And in the process, the prospect has the opportunity to get more connected to the school overall through these contacts, and get a better feel for what it's like to be here interacting with the different departments. It also shows our school's overall customer service.
communication is of the utmost importance with staff members of various departments.Agents cannot effectively describe the school options without it.
