Accreditation
Our school is currently nationally accredited. We are in the process of hopefully becoming regionally accredited. It is a task to stay on top of both accreditations and give students accurate information. Our administration is very good about sending us updates and letting us know what to say to prospective and current students.
That is key when your school is transitioning into a new accreditation. You need to know and understand how both accreditating bodies operate. Keeping a binder for both is a good idea.
Our school is good at making sure we are informed too about accreditation, we make sure to spend 2-3 minutes in interviews with students explaning what being acredited means.
Our school is also very good at keeping us informed as to the status of our accreditation and making sure we understand it. We tell the students that we are accredited, but we also explain to them what that means. Students feel good about hearing that a school is accredited because they know that it's a good thing, but they typically have no idea why. We like to make sure that we point out why that's a good thing and what it means for the school and for their future education.
