credits
It is always good to know what you can and cannot do and know how to explain to a student how the credits from another school will work for them
Yes, I certaintly agree with that. The worst thing you could do is to tell a student their credits will transfer. I always tell them they should research with both institutions to figure that out.
It is crucial to the student experience for prospective students to understand from the beginning how any past credits they hold transfer to my school. Luckily, our transfer policy is fairly lenient, so I have the good fortune of delivering good news. However, I think it's also important to advise the students on how their credits from our school might - or might not :( - transfer to another school. I try to be specific about any schools I know of that take all of our credits, and warn the students that many schools may not take all credits from us. It's important for students to know as much about this as possible, so that if they do decide to transfer to another school in the future, they won't be surprised by their new school's transfer policies.
Absolutely not. I have seen many people lean more to saying they wont.
We have compliance answeres that we must retort verbatim. This makes this easy for us all to deal with.
I agree. It is so important to stress to your prospective students that the transfering of credits is not always guaranteed, and that it is up to the receiving institution. You don't want to even imply that "it is done all the time".
It is strange how many schools that are both public and in the same state will not transfer credits. It may be the same course. Is this because if that school loses that student, they lose the funding too. Is ir possible to create a national credit transfer program. Just thinking.
We actually have a leaflet that explains this info as well to the incoming student
I am for sure going to find out about transfer of credits at my school. That is something I am unaware of and know it will be important.
IN OUR TRAINING WE HAVE ACCESS TO DISCLOSURE STATEMENT THAT INCLUDES THE TRANSFER OF CREDITS
