Credits

This is a topic that needs to be discussed with students so they understand.

Excellent message Marilyn....you are right are ultimate goal is to see our students graduate and act in their best interest. It is imperative to be completely honest and forthcoming with them.

When there is an issue of transferring credits into our school, I always advise to set up a meeting with the registrar for exact information. This ensures that the student is getting valid and correct information.

Yes, it's always a good decision to be open and up front with potential students. We aren't "winning" anyone in who doesn't stay to graduate. We don't want someone to apply, and then maybe sign up for classes down the road only to feel as though they aren't getting what they deserve. We want to see them through to graduation, not just get them to "like" the school. Be honest and don't waste your time or theirs.

I agree. A lot of students feel that credits should automacically transfer to any school. Most of the time credits do not transfer and it is good to let students know up front that way they are not wasting any time or money later down the road.
