If a student is concerned with transfer of credits the catalog information should be provided but it is important that the student follow up on obtaining their offical transcripts.
Very true! The catalog is of great help though as far as finding out what the rules are for transfer credits.
Very important that this is understood, transfer of credits can be a complicated issue so it's important that the student understands this.
This is of vital importance. The definition of what constitutes an Official Transcript is key. It is most often a transcript that arrives via US Mail from the issuing school to your school. There are newer resources such as the student clearinghouse website that may e mail an Official Transcript as well. Transcripts that were printed by the student off of the school's website or delivered by hand by the student are often Unofficial. Every school has a specific policy on this, it is important to know what an Official Transcript consists of at your school.
Transcripts are extremely important when it comes to transferring credits. The catalog is also a great source
Very important for the agent understanding the transfering of credits, as well as clock hours. Many students graduate from one state and wind up wanting to complete the course of study and see what requirements are needed to do so.
Absolutely. Our nursing program has strict guidelines for the transfer of credits. The general rule is if the student has had general education classes, English I & II, Psychology and Sociology and passes with a reasonable grade, those will transfer in. No other courses will transfer in unless the course has been taken within a year and passes with an "A", but that is for the Director of Nursing to determine, and she will look at the transcripts to make that determination, not the admissions rep.
