Weekly vs Monthly Staff Meetings

Do you prefer weekly or monthly staff meetings? Is their a benefit over the other? Outside of reviewing main objectives, what can be implemented during this time so that employees don't feel like this is another "task"?

i think monthly staff meetings are great way to touch base with what is going on throughout the school.

Weekly is the only way to fly in this field. If you only meet once a month, there is no way you could keep up with everything. however, I do like the idea of monthly meeting to look at progress as a whole

Weekly staff meetings are important for all of those involved in admissions/F. Aid/Enrollment. However, we need to also involve the other areas of the campus (academics, etc). Many times they are unaware of upcoming events, police changes, and yes face changes... It's important for everyone on campus to stay on the same page...

I like to have weekly meetings becuse it helps to keep me focused. I think having monthly meetings can miss opportunties to learn from each other. Many times I could be having a bad week and my peer will tell a success story on what he is doing right, and then that helps me. I also think this can help with staying motivated and motivating others.

Weekly on the same day each week. Monday is the best day.

At the college I work at we have two staff meetings a week. One on Monday to go over work that was completed last week. In this meetings staff members read off stats that are directly related to their job. Then there is an open forum where everyone can list positive and negative concerns to focus on for the upcoming work week. The next meeting is on Friday. This is a team building motivational meeting that takes a key concept and building a lesson around it. This is the best type of meeting I have ever experiences. It is uplifting and refreshing and our team moral just sky rockets. This is not a task at all, I always look forward to Friday's meeting. The key is short simple and informative.
