Transferring credits
After completing this section I understand that there are written policies about transferring credits to every institution and that this is something that everyone should be aware of in order to better impact our students.
We never imply nor give any indication that credits will automatically transfer to another institution, clearly stating that it would be up to the receiving institution as to which, if any, credits would transfer.
In my experience, when referring to transfer credits, a school will have approved talking points to go over with a student. You want to make sure to stick to this, and defintely do not guarantee transfer credits.
When asked if credits will transfer, my training has been to say no unless you are positive that they will transfer to a specific Institution of higher learning, that the school you represent more than likely would have an articulation aggreement with. The rule of thumb has been if you don't know, say so, but I will find out for you, or if unsure and you can't get the info, say no they will not transfer.
