Compliance

Make sure that you read over all regulations so that you are within compliance while recruiting.

This is so true. I stick strictly to the script and never deviate from it. That is why the school's presentation is so formated to keep us all in compliance. I try to provide truthful and honest information to the prospective student so they are able to make an educated decision if our school will be the right one for him/her. Also, if a question is asked that I do not know the answer too, I don't guess. I always say that is a great question, however, I don't know the answer but I will find it out or refer you to someone who is able to answer the question better than I.

A person can't be afraid to ask for information if they are new. It is better to ask than assume

Staying on script is very important; however, indepth knowledge learned or re-learned as part of these assessments will promote confidence in your abilities.

You are absolutely right. I think that as long as you follow the rules and stay either on script or just do not try to do too much, you will be fine. It is when the rep starts to talk too much is when we often times get in trouble. Stay on script and you will be fine.

The key to compliance is simply this. Follow the rules that are set out for the institution, keep the students best interest as the goal, and provide accurate information. The student comes first.

I believe a huge part of an Admissions Representative being compliant is reliant on their contining training and DOA. I've found that if a DOA is even the smallest bit non-compliant the entire Admissions team either fights it or takes on the same habits. Admissions has taught me there is a difference between being ethical and being compliant. I've seen people be compliant but still utilize unethical means.

Our College actually has secret Shoppers call in to keep all of usin check on the phone for compliance also.

I am sure that not all schools have a compliance officer or department, but for thos who do they are a great resource.
Attending any and all Compliance trainings offered as well as being aware of the
Federal and State regulations will make you an ethical and compliant Admissions Representative.

The telephone and electronic means of communication can trip folks up who don't follow the rules....
