Compliance

This section defintely refreshed me about the compliance issues that may arise while talking to a prospective student. The integrity of conveying the factual information for students will help them make the future decisions accurately.

I think the best thing to do to remain compliant and keep your integrity in tact is if you don't know the answer simply inform the student, "This is a great question. I am not sure of the answer offhand, but I will be sure to get back with you as soon as possible." The student will respect your honesty and you will have time to find someone who knows the correct answer.

Not only can it cause disciplinary action and or loss of employment for an admissions representative, it can also cause the school to be fined, loss of accredidation and possible shut down.

Sometimes employees think they are helping students by giving their best guess if they do not know an answer. But it only benefits the student if we are giving them the RIGHT answer. And it's not worth it to put institution in jeopardy.

There is so much information that needs to be provided to prospective students. It is important that the information be factual and acurate or it could put the school in harms way and cost the representative their job.
