I agree, it just makes you look bad if you have to put down another school

I feel if a student has questions regarding another school, they need to direct them to that school. My response when asked about other schools generally is "I'm not really too sure how they do it there, but it might be worth checking out." This way you can be certain you aren't providing any inaccurate information.

I agree. I suggest that students get enough information to make an informed decision on the program. This is good for the school and the student..

It is not ethical to ever speak in regards to another institution.

I think we are all here for the same reason, so it is not to their benefit to give them negative feedback on other schools. The student needs to look at all the schools and find a fit which is best for them.

I think if you focus on your school's strengths that the prospective will be able to make a better decision. I don't think talking about schools helps you when it looks like you have to talk bad another school in order to make your school look better.

In Ohio there are regulations against discussing another's schools programs. Regardless, it is never a good practice to discuss another institution. When I first starting working in admissions, 8 years ago, there were no regulations. I never discussed other schools. If a student had questions or wanted to compare schools, I provided them with infomation about my school and incouraged them to do their research about the competing school and make an informed decision.

Professionalism and a positive spirit will always show through for positive interviews. Believe in your school and its programs and success and there will be no need to speak negatively about another school to gain students. I always recommend if a student has questions about another college to investigate directly.

Our school always encourages prospects to attend a school workshop or schedule a tour to better understand, "what we do and how we do it". We encourage prospects to do the same with competing institutions. The objective is to gather as much information is necessary to make a well-informed decision about the career path and school.

I think it is in bad taste to down talk another scool or institution. We ourselves haven't attended that institution and should be able to pass judgement off of heresay.

Speaking negative about any company is not good work ethics, if you have to do such a thing then your company is not providing excellent services to its clients. Instead they are being deceptive.

I could not agree with you more! I never make it a practice to bad mouth other institutions, only point out the way our programs can help our prospective students meet their career needs.
