Texting
I saw that some of you are able to use texting. However at my school we were told we can no longer do that.
It this a business decision? Don't you have to have consent in order to text a prospective student?
I am thinking that the initial contact should of course be voice to voice, but any thing after that we should be able to communicate by text. I was actually successful with text messaging when we were able to do that.
texting may be an easier way to contact students but it does make it impersonal. a phone call so that they can hear a voice is always i belive is the best way.
We are no longer allowed to text prospective students unless we have been given written permission.
I really miss being able to text. I believe this is the way many people today like to communicate. It doesn't use up their minutes and the response rate is much higher than a phone call or email.
We do not text student information, but I would think that written consent would be needed because we have to have consent for e-mail as well.
