There is know reason to talk bad about another school to make your school look better.
I agree. It will make you look bad and not confident if you are not talking about your school and bad-mouthing another.
Be confident and passionate about what you do, and so will the student
You should only be speaking about the programs that are offered at your school. We also need to know our programs well and be able to communicate the great things about our own school. The potential student will need to visit their schools of interest and pick the right fit for them. We should represent our school and programs in a positive way by providing accurate information and honest information consistently.

Just like bullies in grade school; the only reason to put someone else down is because you may be feeling not confident about yourself. It says a lot about a person as well as a school.

By being very knowledgeable in regard to the positive attributes of your institution, you should be able to excite your prospective students without the need to resort to degradations.
