The main purpose is to ensure that career colleges and schools provide what they promised they would provide.

Trust and Transparency. It is very important to make sure that the public eye can become familiar with career schools and colleges. This helps each student to choose what school and career is right for them. Showing certain standards in your college also can help regulation.

Making sure schools/colleges do what they promise the students and the community (i.e. Employers)

It also provides a list of standards for the school to meet or exceed.

I believe the purpose of regulatory oversight is to ensure the students at each individual facility are given the same "core" education. There are standards and core curriculum that is to be met. Yet, each facility can provide their own way of meeting the standards in the core education and make those promises...transparency.

Yes, transparency; but also trust. The relationship with the student needs a strong foundation based in the student feeling confident to believe in the school and its faculty.

I agree with Brenda. It is all about transparency - provide the student what you promised.

I believe the main purpose for regulation is to ensure that the school is providing what services and knowledge that they promise students. Many times you'll see promises that are too good to be true - and usually just that! However, with regulation, schools have to back up what they promise with actual results.
