School Guidelines for Compliant Communications

As representatives of our schools and with the many regulations that undergird our actions and communications with students, prospective students and the community at large, it may appear “safer” to say nothing at all. Yet, students need accurate and fully disclosed information to make informed choices about their education. What guidelines has your school put in place to help ensure compliant communications?

Our students receive factual documentation about our school before signing up to enroll. Any questions about another institution in my opinion should not be answered, but yet direct them to the proper location of information. It is important that our college does not talk negatively in any way about employers, students, graduates, other institutions, nor our community. Keeping a kind, friendly, and positive place is something I personally always strive for.

We have our students attend orientation with each department such as financial aid, and job placement. We have them review the handbook and core curriculum signing a statement that they have read the material and material was reviewed and questions were answered.
