Viene,
Using a variety of approaches in your follow up is a great practice as it gives you more flexibility. It can also be helpful to ask the student how they prefer you follow up with them to set the expectation for continued communication and make sure you're communicating in a way that makes sense for your student.

Dr. Jean Norris

I usually call students in 3,4 days.

A follow up call or email works for me on staying in touch with the prospective student. Just want to let them know that I am interested with his/her situation and interested on helping him/her.

jihae,
Thanks for sharing your follow up practices. It sounds like you try your best to use a variety of approaches when following up with your students and keeping them informed with any updates pertaining to your school. What are some other methods that you might use to increase your connection in following up?

Shannon Gormley

call and send emails. send new or up-dated brochure via emial or mail.

Thank you for sharing some of your best practices, Monique. It sounds like you work to ensure that your follow up includes a variety of ways to connect with the student and that's great! Keep up the good work and continued success.

Follow-up with a phone call and leave a detailed message if I don't reach that student directly. I also send each student a follow-up email. After a certain time has passed with no response from those students, I usually send out a mailing to those students.

My follow-up has impacted my results positively. I have experienced a 100% response ratio up until this point. Each student was receptive to the follow-up practices and called me back or came back in personally.

Belinda,
Glad you found this suggestion helpful. It can also be helpful to disuss the best follow up method and times with your student when setting up your follow up plan. This way, your student has input and is more likely to be there when you follow up. And using your student's preferred method of communication is a great way to continue to build rapport. Good luck in your future follow up!

Thank you for the idea of calling the propect students the next day!

Uselly we call them within two to three days.

Sylvia,
Great approach. I see that you use a couple of different methods to follow up with your students, that's great! Keeping connected in a way that makes sense for the student is important. It can be helpful to simply ask the student "how would you like me to communicate with you moving forward?" This allows your students the opportunity to tell you what works best for them.

I think emails are a great way to follow up. In today's world most people have access to their email on their cell phone, home, and work. It is an easy and accesible way to contact a prospect student. Follow up phone calls are also great. Phone calls and emails make a great combination to contact a prospect student.

Thanks for sharing your practices, Jeff. It sounds like you work very hard to set up communication expectations from the get go with your students and that's great. How do you find that your students respond to the communication timeline?

Shannon Gormley

I call the next day to see if there are any additional questions they might have. If I cant get a hold of them, Ill send a follow up email as well. I setup a timeline to communicate so they don't feel pressured or harassed.

Maria, it sounds like you will use various forms of commuunication based on the student's preference. Great work.

Shannon Gormley

I sent emails and sometimes letters just to follow up.

Maria, sure, calling the students is a great step to follow up with them. I wonder, what has been your experience with those students who don't like to talk on the phone? How do you communicate then?

Shannon Gormley

We used the telephone calls, the letters and prospect card whit moivated messeges.

Call the students just to follow up and see if they have any question.

That's great, Eigna! It sounds like you've got a plan that works for both you and your students. Keep up the good work.

Shannon Gormley

Shannon,

I find that the plan provides positive feedback from prospective students and their families. We focus on providing the prospective student with follow up and an orientation process that will place them on the path to accomplish their academic goals.
