when they only want the cost and class schedule with no tour
How do you handle someone that only wants to basics and won't go on a tour with you and say their time is limited and they are just comparing schools anyway.
giving them the best information of the school and program of intrest, not pushing them because those are the one that will be coming back.
Joralee,
Thank you for your post! You're right - it's important to answer the prospective student's questions about cost and schedules. Building rapport with them, providing the information they are looking for, and following up are essential!

Just like what I learned in the course, I have to acknowledge their questions, answer their questions, even though they are just comparing the cost and class schedule. And since they are in a hurry, I see to it that I got their contact info and make sure I will follow up on the following days to ask how they've been at the same time building a rapport that will lead to developing a relationship with the prospective students, and if possible I will proceed to the next steps in ethical enrollment process.
Quiannia, Smiling and having that positive attitude is great! What do you think about simply giving them the cost first, as they asked?
Dr. Jean Norris
First I smile and ask them to have a seat while reaching for a school packet. I go over our benefits and what sets us apart while they are sitting. I make sure that I plant a solid seed. I give them a packet and see if they have any questions. Then I send them on their way.
I agree, to provide the information and follow up with an intense care may bring back the prospect student.
Based on all of the posts in this thread it looks like everyone agrees that it makes the most sense to provide the person with the information they are requesting. Including benefit statements regarding the program and cost as well as pointing out any points of distinction in the process may help to differentiate you from your competition. Tu I also like your suggestion of inviting them to come back for more information or a tour once they are ready. I would also suggest setting a specific date and time to follow up with the prospective student before they leave with their information.
Dr. Jean Norris
I will handout the brochure give them the information about the program and ask them to come back for school tour if they would like to know more about the facility.
Answer their questions while also showing them how the school might be able to benefit them. Some of those same people are the ones that come back they just didn't want to be pushed while they made a decision.
I tried to explain to the student that it is important to their education. They need to understand all the options and benefits that the college offers to make sure they are matching apples to apples when looking at other colleges.
I would give them the best information i could about the school and program
