We had a graduation ceremony where we invited an outside speaker and posted video of the event online.

We have bi-annual Advisory Board meetings with Business Owners in our community. These are a great way to get feedback on how well we are training our students, but they are also an opportunity to let them know what we are doing, what new equipment we have, new programs, certifications, etc. While they are not responsible for pitching our programs, many of them will talk about us if they feel we have a good value. I have gotten a few leads from the businesses that we partner with simply because they believe in the value of our instruction.

We are a new school and have not held any events as of yet.

Connie,
Great way to invite people from the communiity to experience your school while also offering a service to others! Sounds like you do a lot to cultivate relationships with the community at large. Keep up the good work.

I try and schedule health and wellness days at least twice a year. We invite different types of practices to come and set up a table. It can be an acupuncturist or a nurse from the local hospital doing cholesterol screening. It helps my school build credibility while helping the others market some of their skills to students and the community.

Thanks

Keith,
Awesome! I'll definitely check this out. What criteria did you use to measure the success of this series?

One of the best events that we have organized was the platinum series. This was live interviews from platinum selling record producers that was interactively webcasted around the world.

Very creative idea. This sounds like a win/win! How long have you been doing the Student for a Day event?

We have an event called Student for a Day. This is very well organized and well attended. We give prospective students the opportunity to experience what is like to be a student in our very unique school. Part of the program is to offer lunch to the participants and we invite existing students to join them. THe prospective students love the chance to spend time with existing students to ask questions and share experiences.
