Methods Of Communication

Personally I find that the face to face communication is more to the point and clearer, there is no room for misunderstang and you can get immeadiate feedback by the body langauge as well.

I definitely agree... when you are face-to-face everything appears to be more authentic and real. In my opinion, it is a true fact that one can at least make the determination of whether or not either party wants to be a part of the conversation or not...Therefore,one is able to get to the points, stay on track & terminate at any point and time.

Bettmann, that's a great point. I'm curious, what can be done in order to keep the conversation on track?

Scott, absolutely. Maintaining a level of confidence is important in any situation. This helps prove your credibility too.

If I am a student looking at to an advisor I would want them to be convey confidence in the subject matter. Also, I would want it to be a two way conversation and not just them selling me. These are the features that I would be looking for in body language.

Face to face communication although a prefered metheod by many can present the challenge of straying of the purpose of the converstation into other areas that are not relevatnt to intended purpose of the conversation.

Fernando,
That is so true! Body language can tell us what someone is REALLY thinking. What are things you look for in body language?
