Call Brevity

In the "TEN COMMANDMENTS" for outbound calls, Rule #3 states that we are to keep our calls brief and that the purpose of the call is to make the appointment. We are certainly to build rapport, gather information and give information, but we still want to keep it brief.

On the quiz, #5 says, "It is essential that you keep your calls brief. TRUE or FALSE? I answered True since this is what Commandment #3 said.

But it was marked wrong. False is the answer because we are to build rapport.

These are contradictory. Please advise as to the correct course of action.

Had this question on my side too. Thanks Sabrina.

Sabrina,
Sorry for the confusion. You are correct that we want to keep our calls focused and on point because people are busy these days and don't always have time for a lot of non-essential chatter. The MOST important thing though is to build a meaningful relationship to build trust which in turn dictates the length of the conversation. Does that make sense? We'll also look at the quiz questions based on your input to see if we can make this more clear. Thanks for posting!
