I can't afford the books for INT 200.

I understand that the materials for this first class are expensive. Many of our students have had to save up for the cost, by either postponing the class or by looking at creative ways to come up with the money. I know that some of my students have checked into using intralibrary loans and others have looked online for the best prices.

Objection: I have never taken an online class so I don't think this will be right for me.

Underlying issue: Fear of Unknown

Overcoming: I totally understand that taking online classes is something new for you. Most of my students actually are afraid of taking classes online because they have only ever taken classes in the classroom, but most of them have found that the format for our classes works better with their schedule, and that the classes can really cater to an adult style of learning.

The programs here are still four years long and I will still be struggling to finish when I want to get through school quickly.

"I understand that you feel like it will take forever to finish. I want to assure you that we hear that a lot here. That is why our programs are catored for full-time working adults that share this. We offer CLEP and DANTE tests to test out of your general education and electives classes. This is over $1100 savings and allows you to take as many tests as you like to finish a lot more quickly."

1.I have been out of school so long, I am not sure how well I will do.

2.I understand that it might seem daunting to returen to school after so long. I hope you know that you're not alone- our program is designed for adult students who are returning to school after being in the workforce, and many feel the exact same way you do. Your first class is set up to provide you with the support you need to feel comfortable in the online system- many of my students have found that they regain their academic confidence after taking this introductory class.
