Creating relationships within your industry
The material covered in this course has given me input on many different ways to reach out and let people know what we do and how we contribute to our community and industry. These techniques seem simple and straight forward. I know that lack of time is always an obstacle for all of us, but I will implement at least a few of these techniques and measure the results. I always directed our resources towards potential students looking for a new career, but never looked inside of our own industry. The first step I will take is to build relationships within our own industry through direct mail followed up by phone calls and newsletters and measure the results.
Hi Edgardo, Glad you got so many ideas to reach out to your community. You are right that all these strategies are easy. They do just take time and someone to implement them. We suggest that you take the time to do the tasks and then write a checklist of the steps and include any forms that will make the tasks easier. Automate the steps as much as possible with computerized records and tickler systems. It takes time up front but once in place you might even get an administrative assistant to implement things. Thanks, Susan
