Does a bartending school needs an agency to advertise?

I really don't think its necessary for us to hire an agency to do our advertisment. We are expending and currently have 3 locations in different states. Any suggestions?

This makes me think of our beauty school. Do we need an ad agency, since the expense involved could be high?

Anna, I hope one day you log back in and read these great comments.

This little story will help you in the process to answer your question. Way back in 1912, Otto Rohwedder had an idea and invented sliced bread. In the past, bread came in loafs, like every other brand (bartending school). It was a great idea. A simple cutting machine that could take a delicious loaf of bread and ... slice it. However, the machine was a failure. At that time, the 'advertising age' was in its beginning which meant that a good product with crappy marketing had little chance of success. It was not until 20 years later when a new brand named Wonder started marketing sliced bread. It was the advertising and packaging (Builds Strong Bodies Twelve Ways) that worked. Not the sheer convenience and innovation of presliced bread.

Think about it ....

P.S. Hi Charlotte

Depends on the amount of advertising that you do and how complex it is. As a general statement I would guess the spending may not be high enough to justify the additional cost. May want to look at project work with an agency though such as collateral design or services that you can't do in-house.

How do you advertise?

That depends on your strategy and available resources. What are your goals? Who is responsible for the advertisting now? What is the budget? What kind of Internet efforts are currently in progress? There are many things to take into consideration to make that decision. Personally I feel it is good to allow people to play to their strengths and let people who do it everyday be responsible. What is difficult is when the responsibility is put on someone's already full plate. What needs do you have currently?
