Times
Are there certain times that work better for different demographics?
If you are running in the overnight hours, would you really expect viewers to call at that moment or more likely take down the number or website and call during normal business hours?
Good question, Michael.
While daytime is typically strong for younger demographics, I wouldn't discount it
If you're looking for areas to target older potential students, early fringe and prime access can be good times of the day to look for older viewers.
A very good area to draw leads for more male focused viewers who may be displaced due to auto industry layoffs would be running spots in the overnight hours. You can typically find very low cost spots which will lead to low costs-per-lead.
You will want to make sure you have a way to capture information from those leads, if you do choose to run in the overnights. A second-party all hours call-center is my recommendation in this case.
What time of day would you say is better to reach an older market that is underemployed or displaced worker. The auto indusrty is doing so many lay offs here that this is the one of the markets we want to tap into to get people retrained
Actually, Brian, we do try to look at time of day as a factor when reaching certain demographics. Daytime (typically 9a-5p) is a good time to reach younger viewers (18-34) who may be under or unemployed.
When looking to reach a demo that may be in the market for degree or master's type currocula, we often tend to look more towards the later part of the day, including early and late fringe.
Ultimately, after you are able to ascertain where you are getting the best results for your particular demo, future decisions should be based on historical data.
