Definition of employment

What is your instutiion's definition of "Employment" as it relates to your accreditation standards? In other words, how long does your student need to be employed in order to be counted as a placement?

When they become certified and have gainful employment in their field, we cosider them employed. We are very good about checking on our students and keeping up with their job placement.We offer them suggestions and help them get their resumes in order.

The 14-day rule is an important aspect of career services.

We do not verify employment until the student has a start date that is set in stone, no matter what type of position. Only once we receive a start date and other vital information from the stduent, do we verify their employment with their employer.

A student needs to be employed for 21 days in order to be counted as a placement. Also, their placement is not verified until their start date, not on their "offered" or "hired" date.

Employed in related field for period of 14 days.

Mark - do you track these 90 day verifications in the system in addition to the inital placement?

So does our school, I find this beneficial for placement.

As soon as the student employments has been verified they are counted as a placement. Some programmatic accreditations require 90days on the job before counting the placement and sending employer surveys.

We count a graduate as employed after 14 days

As soon as student is hired they countas a placement.

We define a placement when the student has been employed for 14 calendar days.
