How to handle an audit from a terminated employee?
Are there any recommendations as to how to handle an audit when the job functions were just transitioned to a new employee? Recently, an employee left the company and audit produced multiple issues that the previous employee never addressed. How could a good action plan respond to this scenario?
Brian,
I am a big advocate of exception reporting that will automatically "flag" anomalies. If you do not have the means to automate or create such reports, the training and monitoring during a new employee's start period becomes even more important. I have seen some schools conduct a review of ALL of the new employee's work for a period of time or have someone "sign off" or hold responsibility for actual certifications/submissions/etc. to be accountable for the new employee's work until they demonstrate solid ability to perform within compliant guidelines. Hopefully others will chime in on ideas from their schools.
