Marilyn - I completely agree that the biggest reward is student achievement! I think ALL employees should attend graduation ceremonies as it is such a great feeling to see the positive impact on each of their lives!

Kristy - I totally agree about the attitude and "do the right thing" approach. You also bring up a good point about being available to answer questions to avoid frustration and delays in responding to questions when they arise.

Excelletn suggestion, Terelyn - Team building events can be very beneficial. I am not sure what kind of incentives you mean by "office incentives". Just make sure these are not in conflict with the restrictions related to incentive compensation.

Rikki - it sometimes amazes me the power of appreciation. That simple "thank you", plus the other items you mention, can go a long way to keep employees motivated. Thanks for sharing.

Say "thank you", provide feedback, and give employees all of the knowledge/training they need to move forward in their career.

Communication, orginzation, reminders of these retrictions are all ways to motivate.

Revamp ordinary procedural training by incorporating Team Building events.

Also, increasing office moral and motivation with office incentives for timely and accurate completion of duties.

Just always be motivating to their staff and have a great up-beat attitude to do the right thing at all times. To be their for there staff to answer questions.

It's all about following the rules and procedures.

When the teanm is motivated they are more willing to accomplish goal that seem impossible . They are also more likely to give it their all insted of just whats expected.

Prevention and education is EVERYTHING in this business. To have your employees fully aware of the policies and WHY is essential in success and compliance.

Effective communication. Showing employees that they are appreciated. It only takes two words "THANK YOU".Practice what we preach .

I can attest that a simple note of appreciation can lift spirits and motivate staff. I do this for my instructors periodically. I receive feedback that they appreciate the thoughtfulness and especially that I hand write them.

Kimberly, I absolutely agree with your comments. Adherence to rules and guidelines is what avoids confusion for staff and can help our work proceed in a positive and smooth manner for the benefit of our students.

Excellent points, Rebecca. We can sometimes forget the power of praise and can miss opportunities to motivate by simply focusing on the "human element".

Encouragement and compliments go a long way to motivate individuals. Other motivating factors include enthusiasm, a simple 'thank you,' and holding people accountable to realistic expectations. Also, setting simple benchmarks and acknowledging the acheivement of benchmarks helps too. Public acknowledgement is a particular bonus.
