When students ask you for the average salary ?

what would be the best approach for the admissions representative to answer specific question about future salary if the student insist in receiving an answer?

There are websites that can be recommended to the students to find out on their own as to the median salaries in their specific area. Salaries change and can differ employer to employer so it is better to play it safe and let the student obtain the information through these websites.

Boni,

Hi! Referring students to the US Department of Labor is an excellent practice the Bureau of Labor Statistics is another common site that is required on many disclosures.

I refer students asking this question to the data provided by the US Department of Labor, which can be highly specific as to job categories and locations. Data provided by schools and professional organizations is generally less up to date and may be biassed.

Olita,

Thank you for joining the forum. Even though each college has data from which they create their disclosures from - salaries can be based on a persons individuality.

I agree with Dayanes, The salary changes for each individual.

DAYANES,

What a great question. When presenting salary information it is important to present the most accurate information available. Your colleges accrediting and licensing bodies require this information on an annual basis which is transposed into a disclosure that is presented to each prospective student. Only present this information after it has been vetted by your compliance team.
