When reading the section on learning disabilities I noticed that some of those may apply to me. Is it possible that everyone may have some sort of disability. For myself I noticed that I have trouble with concentration, When studying or taking a test I have to be in a room that is completely quiet, I get distracted easily, or I do not notice spelling issues sometimes. This section made me think a little bit about that, but while knowing this about myself I also can relate to others who have distraction problems.

Patricia,
:) I have several family members diagnosed with ADHD and have recently had my 5 year-old tested for learning disabilities. I agree that when you have first-hand knowledge you have a much better understanding.

I see that too! I have been diagnosed with ADD so much of my function (or lack of function) now makes sense. It is very difficult to deal with and it does help me understand and be more compassionate with the struggles of others with disabilities.

Violet,
It would be wrong to think of disability as a continuum that everyone is on. No -- not everyone has some sort of disability. You could have a mild, undiagnosed learning disability. Or the difficulties you have had yourself may be a function of your preferred learning style.
