This is a great question. The answer is simple - build strong community outreach and alumni relationships. If you have someone out in the community every day they should be meeting with your grad's employers and potential employers. If you build strong relationships with them, and deliver great students, they will come to you with externship opportunities and job openings. And if you keep in touch with all your alumni then they will introduce you to the hiring decision makers and externship coordinators where they work.
