Even if you omit this phrase from your resume, I encourage students to add it in their concluding paragraph in their Cover Letter so the employer knows that the Reference list is readily available and you are willing to share it.

Yes, I was told that and I do agree with that. I feel that if and when an employer is interested in you they will ask for your references. I do encourage my students to have their references ready on a seperate sheet of paper to provide to the employer. Also its, a nice indicator that you may be offered the position because they are checking your references.
