New Students & Expectations
I find that it is very important to be consistent from the first day so that the students know what is expected of them.
A four week orientation? Does the orientation include subject material or does it primarily focus on classroom readiness,Sue? For credit?
My students would have completed a four week orientation beofre entering the first day of the program. It would cover all areS,attendance, expectations for completion, dress code, conduct, etc. But, it is stiull my responsibility to go back over all these areas to make sure the students understand. There will always be questions that will come up later in the program, which I am prepared to address and make sure that the student understands.
Consistency is highly valued in the classroom, Linda, but do you find occasional situations where is isn't possible?
