Rules and Requirements
Sometimes, the school may come up with rules and regulations and expect for the faculty to implement them and monitor student compliance...In some cases, the faculty themselves do not understand the reasons behind them. We can not make the students "buy in" to these unless, we can convince them that these actually make sense, and that their benefits outweight the disadvantages of their implementation.
Darryl, any thoughts on how to reduce that type of inconsistency? Is peer pressure effective in getting colleagues to uniformly apply the rules?
agree with the statements, but I think we should not overlook the fact that often times we are own worst enemy.
The lack of inconsistency between instructors and staff on rule enforcement.
I agree with this statement, rules and regulations are a guidline to set the pace of new students.
MERVINA, does anyone ever ask for an explanation? If not, why not?

Full communication with staff and faculty is essential to implementing any new policy, rules, or guidelines. When faculty understands the importance, and is able to communicate the positives, to the students, student buy-in and view that this IS much more likely to occur.
