attention ,retention and stress

stress and attention mainly affecting retention but not all the time is instructor fault ,,
we have to choose higher GPA STUDENT for the program ,these students have better attention and retention .

Well said. To me it doesn't matter what their GPA is/was. That was in the past. We, the instructor and student, are working together in the now to create a new and improved GPA and a better chance for a successful future.

Great approach, Kyle. Keep up the good work.

I feel that we need to do our best to assist any student, however we certainly must avoid crossing into the gray area where our concern may be misinterpreted.

It all comes down to being a team player. As an instructor we are the ones with the power to mold minds and motivate individuals to meet there goals in life. We can't always pick and choose students with high G.P.A.'s. All we can do is give 110% and use teamwork with a good support system for each and every student. We can't win them all but we can dig down deep and try our bests.

A practical observation, Howard. Are well qualified students and business success mutually exclusive?

this is a good point but most schools are businesses and they are trying to balance money and student quality.

How is the standard established? Are the standards the same for all programs? Do you have remediation services to raise student performance before they enroll?

I think that the testing to get into the school should be higher than eight grade level.
