Intervention process

When working on an issue with a student and consequently referring them to a licensed practioner, do we continue through the eight stages of the intervention process? Does my work go from four to seven?

Do you follow up to make sure that they connected with the student resource?

In my classroom it is usually a 1 step process. I listen to the situation and direct them to the correct student resource. I am not qualified as a counsellor.
