one method does not fit all

it take along time to be good enough to work with students to find out what is causing their problem(s),and come with a solution. always seek help if cannot solve the problem, others may have a solution.

As usual spot on Jack. Almost all odd behaivior has its roots in insecurity. If we can help the student see that there is a better way....they just may change thier behaivior for the better.

Not being a psychotherapist, I think I can help my students solve some of their superficial problems but many have deep-seated issues from their past (or present) lives that are affecting their ways of coping. These people need professional help and guidance.

Absolutely. You always have to get to the heart of the issue.
