I had not known these intervention techniques before. What is your favorite intervention technique that may not have been listed here?
Thats a great idea, I would not have thought of using that approach. Having the student listen to others in his own class who are facing some of the same challenges may bring him some comfort in that he is not alone. Thanks Herman.
I found that the big key for me is observation. I enjoy a brief visit with each student each day just to get the feel of where they are as class or lab progresses. I make sure that the student feels that they can approach me. I notice there tone and observe thier demeaner. This is where inervention starts for me.
I like to open up a discussion with the class based on a personel problem a individual may have to take the focus off of him and open his mind up to many solutions
