Orientation in an Online Environment
Does anyone have experience creating orientations in an online environment? What advice do you have?
Anthony,
Online orientations can be very effective; mixing asychronis with sychronis activities makes for a wonderful experience. I have found that online students are often much more open than in a classroom.

I do not have any experience in online orientation, but I would appreciate any help that will assist me in the futureI can
LeeAnn,
There have been several posts concerning online orientations. Seems to me the most effective is a combination of both self-paced and concurrent orientations. Much of the policies, procedures, etc. can be covered in a self-paced environment. Allowing students to interact together through WebEx, Go-to-Meeting, or the like seems most effective to cover 'how to' work within the LMS and provide other opportunities for questions and answers.

well I don't have any online Orientation experience..but
you know sometimes your on a call and you can't see the person your talking to but you can tell if they are smiling : )
Maybe you could be more up beat with your message and still be professional. it's hard to go over policy & procedures in person. so, I can understand. I aways look for new ways to get my point across.
