Orientation

While the idea of having a traveling Orientation is great. Going from department to department. Great care should be given that bottlenecks, delays and space issues are brainstormed prior to orientation.

Richard,

It does need to be extremely well planned and, frankly, you should have a staff or faculty member near the outside entrances to both greet late-comers and interact with individals who may take the opportunity to leave as they are walking from department to department. This gives us the opportunity to find out more of their fears and concerns and address those in an individual way.

Paul, I can see the wiseness of thinking about the physical constraints that may occur in doing a traveling orientation. A good deal of planning would need to be done in order to assure the orientation would be a success. For new students, who already do not feel connected to the facility, could cause them to have a change of heart if this type of orientation is not well planned.
