I couldn't agree more regarding all staff and faculty must exhibit the utmost customer service to all students. The staff and faculty must place the student first above anything else, and treat them with the utmost dignity and respect.
Any job is dependant on customer service, customers usually have choice of taking business elsewhere

Actually, we're told that the hiring employers are the customers and the students are our product. If you have poor 'Quality Control', or don't pay attention to retention you will not have a good product if you have one at all!

when we treat our students with respect somehow they would treat other the sameway a good customer service is very important for the retention of our students.
Its always a bonus to have good customer service... When people are treated nice they have a better attitude and that means they will be more receptive to what you have to say or offer.

I agree. The level of customer service needs to be consistent whether in the class room or in administrative situations. This shows quality attached to the institution in the student's perception.
I always treat my students as my customers because they are paying me to teach them about my subject and to give them a correct grade. I will do everything I can to help them within the rules. Treating students with contempt will breed contempt. However, when treaing students are customers, then they will come back. I also don't want them to think I am better but just one of them. It works well.
I totally agree with having great customer service. Students at the institution not only pay for an excellent education, but also pay for great customer service across the board. Having great customer service really adds to the overall experience of the students.
