Students know we are there for them matters!

I have my heart in educating students and I must say that they are so appreciative of my efforts to work with them. Although I do follow the policies and procedures of the program and stick to them, my students understand that they need to all have an equal education and equal accountability.

Tutoring sessions are a place to not only educate our students, but to get to know them and share some experiences. It is also a good time to share with them channels of communication between them and me and the college support systems also.

It makes a big difference to these students to know we are here if they need us!

This is a great idea. Working in student services, I like to go inside the classrooms throughout enrollment just in case students forget that they have support other than their instructor.

Great post! I agree student can tell which instructors are really concerned about the educational learning experience and I have noticed that sometimes the students tries a little hard also,

I always begin each new class with the knowledge of what department they should go to if they are having a problem also I am ready to assist them in any way that I can. They are given a time of my availability when not in class if they feel the need to communicate. I try to make my student feel like they do matter and that they are somebody no matter what they may have been told. My students often call me during and after externship thanking me for believing in them when no one else did. This makes my work as a teacher worthwhile.

Great job, I totaly agree.

I agree, please keep up the good work Theresa.
