Faculty Introductions
We do a faculty intro in our department orientation in which each instructor introduces themselves and tells the new students a little about their qualifications, education, and hobbies.
We start introducing our new students to faculty as soon as possible. Some students have even met a couple of the full time instructors during their admissions tour. That is then reinforced with our Orientation before the first day of school with a demo led by one or two of the instructors for each program.
Great idea! We take it a bit further, on the first day of classes in addition to the instructors giving a synopsis of themselves, each student makes an introduction, what made them choose that particular career and school, interests and personal goals.
