When it takes over the topic at hand. A little here and there to break the ice and lighten the mood of the room is fine, but keep the subject rolling right along
Very light humor is a nice way to help some students relax but unfortunately it also leads some to believe it is time for fun and games. I agree that it should never go beyond the subject being discussed and the students need to be reminded of that. There are a large variety of cultures and age groups and the students are not familiar enough with each other.Very important to maintain a pleasant and professional learning environment.
I think it is a good way of helping the students relax, but it should not go beyond the subject and should be in line with the discussion at hand. I will usually joke about the things I have encountered in the industry which are funny, but also offer insight and knowledge of what it is they are going to be doing in the future.
when humor hurts someome or is about religion or politics it should be stoped before it becomes harrasment good fun humor is great though I've walked in my room and fallen on the floor and actually started the lesson from the floor talk about getting the attention of every one right off the batt it works
