learning styles
i think it's important to know the learning styles of your students
During my lectures I try to impliment different learning styles to reach all the students. During the clinical portion of my class it's mostly hands on so a demo is very helpful.
Fatemeh,
Thank you for mentioning "alternative methods." Too often, teachers simply redo what they have already done.

I agree that it is important to know the learning styles of my students. I try to use a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and assignments that connect to a variety of learning styles. When I see a student is struggling I immediately try to find an alternative method to match the learning style to the assignment. I find the students retain more information when I use techniques that appeal to more than one learning style.
Danny,
It is important to teach to the variety of learning styles our students bring to us. What are your favorite teaching strategies that address multiple learning styles?
Thanks, Christopher.
I participated in a seminar regarding learning styles a while back in which the speakers suggested that most learning styles will be addressed in in any one class period there is time for personal reflection, small group interction and a well-delivered guided discussion facilitated by the teacher.
This is true. If we don't teach to a students perticular learning style, that student may have a harder time understanding the material, and could eventually lose their vision.
