Retention

I will send out progress reports to let my students know where they stand. If I have a student in trouble, I will take them to the side and tell them the importance of class and passing the class

Thank you, Michael.

What are some other ways that you show your students that you are paying attention to them and that you care about there success?

If I see a student doodling instead of taking notes, I find a way to set the class on an excersize and talk with that student quietly about what is occupying his attention.

Thanks! Are there any things, other than grades, that happen in the classroom that help you to identify those that may be starting to have issues?

Missing time.

Thanks, Terry.

Other than grades, what are some of the other things you look for to determine if a student is "in trouble?"
